I have spent 10 days x 5 hours a day  to find it. Searched desperately the internet for a deal breaker , bought it and now from a week i am testing it on my dog. But hands down i tell you: This is the one!

It is a quite good quality one. 500m range.Vibration and shock  9 levels. Beep 9 tones, 3 run modes.  Locator function, means you can beep a command by pressing a button or just a beep to find the dog! Buttons are nearly impossible to be pushed by accident, situated lower than the main surface, no problem here, i have it in my pocket right now. Very light, nice fluorescent color. Biothane (strong threaded polyurethane) waterproof collar and also the receiver is waterproof.  Still haven’t tested the transmitter if is watertight . Works nice as it should.  LCD display, simple but yet full of functions. Has extra remote beeper. This all can easily cost you 400$ from a brand name. Better from the cheap Chinese crap and 3 times at least cheaper from the similar brand ones. Did i tell you that it has Li Po batteries. If you have read my technical info post you will already know that these are the best ones. The plastic is strong and light, i can see it easily on small or a big dog. The lowest level|(1)  is like from a piezoelectric lighter, the highest (9) is like a pin prick. Perfect for any dog. Yes, i shocked myself with it.

Its not big, though not small at all. The plastic has that anti slip feel, similar to more expensive ones.  The antenna is detachable. If you wait for the review, you will see all of it there.

What is the catch? Ughh, its Chinese, though good quality. I have no problem with that. if you are looking to spend your money wisely – know: For under 150$ there is no other like this one! So save at least 50$ right now,  from buying a similar but better known one. The seller also seems ok, i checked, he sells tons of other stuff.

I greatly encourage you to go with the cheaper above or the slightly more expensive one below at number 3 , but if you are in this price tag, here is the deal:

No doubt that any one who knows about dog shock collars would agree with my choice, so lets cut the unnecessary talk. Sportdog shock collars rule here!

These are  directly Sportdog listings, don’t be tempted to save 5$ from a re-seller, cause later can cost you more than that. They are very similar. The names are self explicable. My personal choice is the Wetland Hunter Camo. I have used it before. These don’t have LCD,  very easy to use and more than enough for most of the dog owners.  The main features are that they are expandable, waterproof, have audible beep, 8-16 levels. In other words – no brainers.

Here are the shock collars that can be called semi-pro. They can satisfy even the most demanding person. That means together with the under 100$ one recommended you before,  they are the best buy for the money. Here the king is Tri-Tronics, the company that first started manufacturing dog training collars. Range is 100 to 200% stated,support, quality and design unbeatable.  They have respectively 10 and 20 levels of continuous and momentary stimulation.Up to 3 dogs. Both are field rechargeable, 120 min recharge time,etc.  Here many try to get the attention of the buyer, but  from 200$ and more my only choice would be the best, hence Tri-Tronics. Made in USA.

Here you have  an electric bark collar,  Tri-Tronics also.  I will not stop discussing other bark shock collars, as they all are similarly priced and this is the best. Chinese ones are out of the question. This is a device that functions not monitored by owners, so any fault in functionality can result in the worst imaginable.

3. Dog Shock Collar 300 – 500$

Here the  recommended ones are top of the line and quite sophisticated. They have very comfortable for constant use shape. Control more dogs, top range. Don’t bother with the non EXP editions. These babes can control a pack of hunting dogs beyond visual reach in every weather condition. Check them ans subscribe  to email notifications because right now i am researching for a GPS equipped in this price tag that can beat them all.

As you can see there are no recommended models from 400 to 500$ because i believe that they are not real value. Do yourself a favor and save your money.

 

 

4. Dog Shock Collar 500$+

This one deserves special attention. If you can afford it, don’t think it twice. Has a ton of features. Operation with one hand.  It is quite compact, very tough and dependable..2 1/2″ fixed The transmitter antenna has very enhanced performance so it is difficult to be lost or broken, comes with new beeper, also in total 6 levels of continuous and some 18 levels of momentary   stimulation. Its worth noting that shows consistent one mile range. The transmitter and receiver ar waterproof. Battery life indicator is present on the transmitter and the receiver. The transmitter can  operate remotely other accessories including the Tracer  Light.

Honestly, have to admit that I don’t  know very much about other brands in this price range. Have seen and tried some but only old ones. That speaks for itself  about Tri-Tronics.   Soon will investigate new models of other brands. Do not worry too much about this!  Just make a mental note when buying. Usually the cheaper collars have limited 1 or 2 year warranty, which means parts and labor. The more expensive ones, have normal warranty usually 2 years and some have Premium warranty. Most of them have 30 days money back guarantee, just inform yourself  in the moment of buying. Do not fall into the trap of extra warranty and so, because after 5 years if  the dog shock collar brakes, for the money you saved, there will 10 times better  collar available.  What you can buy nowadays for 200$ before some years was accessible only to Pros.
